NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test -UG) is an All India entrance exam conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) for admissions to MBBS/BDS Courses in India offered by Medical/Dental Colleges approved by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament.
NEET eligibility requirements:
Aspirants must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete the required age on or before Dec 31 of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.
The upper age limit for the exam is 25 years on the exam date. A relaxation of 5 years for aspirants belonging to OBC/SC/ST category will be given.
Number of attempts: The number of attempts which an aspirant can avail will be limited to 3 (three) uniformly to all the candidates. Eligibility for seats under the control of States/Universities/Institutions/ AFMC/Central Pool Quota: Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Oversees Citizen of India (OCIs) & Foreign Nationals will be eligible for admission in Medical/Dental Colleges subject to rules and regulations framed by the respective State Governments, Institution and the Government of India. These aspirants are eligible for 15% All India Quota Seats.HOW TO APPLY-
NEET will be a three hour long consisting of 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). The exam will be held in 8 languages including - English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya and Kannada.
For each correct answer, students will get four marks and for one mark will be deducted for any question answered incorrectly.
